倍数
倍数的语法点属于形容词副词的比较级。
对于倍数，记住三个公式就很容易掌握了。
倍数+as+形容词或副词(原级）+as
倍数+the+名词+of
倍数+比较级+than
这里我们主要是要记住什么时候用as,什么时候用of,什么时候用than。
我们来观察一下，这三个公式，as是和原级搭配，of是和名词搭配，than是和比较级搭配。
你有没有想到什么？是不是介词（as/of）和than的区别。
as是和什么一样，既然是和什么一样，那中间的形容词是不是该用原级。和前面的倍数搭配以后就变成是什么的多少倍；比如：
A+ 三倍+as+形容词或副词(原级）+as+B→A是B的三倍→A＝3B
of是不是想到名词，和物主代词有关系。比如a friend of mine。名词的前面要有冠词，在表示倍数的时候就是变成特指了，所以我们需要把a/an变成the；然后这里的倍数就是之这个名词代表的性质（高度，重量）等；比如：
A+三倍+the+名词+of+B →A在名词指代的意思方面是B的三倍→A＝3B
than是不是很熟悉的比较级，表示比什么更好，更多，那么自然他要和比较级连用；表示多多少，A比B多五倍，那么加上原来的那一份，A是B的六倍，这一点是要注意的地方。
A+三倍+比较级+than+B →A比B 多三倍，那么A是B 的四倍→A＝4B
现在拿具体的例子来说：
倍数+as+形容词或副词(原级）+as
The expanded European Union has a population of more than half a billion peiple, twice as big（形容词原级） as the pipulation of the United States.
扩张的欧盟有五亿多人口，是美国人口的两倍。
A等于2B→欧盟的人口数量＝五倍的美国人口数量
注意：X+倍数（三倍）+as many/ much+名词+as+B
名词的数量是B的数量的三倍
There are about 105 males born for every 100 females, but this ratio drops to near balance at the age of maturity and among 70-year-olds there are twice as manywomen as men.
每出生100名女婴就会出生105名男婴，但这个比例在成年人中基本持平，在70岁的老人中，女性是男性的两倍。
In other words, there are three times as many girls as boys.
换句话说，女生的人数是男生人数的三倍

Your playground is 900 metreswide, three times the size of ours.
你们的操场是900米，是我们的操场的三倍。
This big tree is four times the height of that small one.
这颗大叔的高度是那颗小树的四倍。（比那颗小树高三倍）
The height of this big tree is four times that of that of that small one.
This street is twice the width of that one.
这条街是那条街的两倍宽。
According to the Canadian Institute for Health Information, prescription drug costs have risen since 1997at twice the rate of overrall health care spending.
加拿大医疗信息协会的资料表明，自1997年以来，处方药费用的增长速度是整个医疗费用增长速度的两倍。
倍数+比较级+than
This hall is five times bigger than our classroom.
这个大厅比我们的教室大五倍。（是我们教室的六倍大）
The car runs twice faster than that truck.
这辆轿车的速度比那辆卡车的速度快两倍。（是那辆卡车的三倍快）
When the United States entered just such a glowing period after the end of the Second World War, it had a market eight times larger than any competitor, giving its industries unparalleled economies of scale.
美国二战后进入这样一个辉煌的时期，它拥有比任何竞争对手都大八倍的市场，这使其工业经济规模无可匹敌。
